Zen is the education of the unconscious, the art of entering the vast territory of not-knowing. And because not-knowing cannot be captured by rules, there is no method, no standard path, no technique to cling to.
I will introduce the essence of Zen and how this is related to the essence of art, so to the creative process.
Whatever we think we know about Zen is already a step away from it. In Zen, we return again and again to that place that cannot be found on any map. Everyone begins from zero, even if you’ve been practicing for fifty years.
This is for anyone who wants to touch the raw fact of being alive and its inevitable unfolding as expression. “Expression” is the key. Pasquale invites you to explore the sense of ownership in your gestures, the sense of agency in your actions and responses. We will enter the subtle field where reciprocity and responsiveness meet, where expression rises not from effort, but from presence.
There will be moments of individual exploration and moments of shared inquiry, by which we open the field where life expresses itself through us.
For those joining for the first time, this will be a new entryway; for returning participants, I invite you to recall Suzuki Roshi’s Zen Mind, Beginner’s Mind. This event can be experienced as a single day, as well as a wonderful introduction to a weekend focused on the magic of expression.

PASQUALE ESPOSITO
Pasquale is a Zen monk (Soto) and a professional actor. As an actor he works internationally in the film industry. After different years of Zen practice Pasquale was officially ordained in 2001 at the Fudenji Zen Temple in Italy by the Abbot’s Temple Fausto Taiten Guareschi.
Pasquale is also the president of the Zen Cultural Association "Flowers in the Sky" www.flowersinthesky.com and is the artistic director of the Research Company, with which he research projects and offers internationally.
Being a Zen monk and an actor forces him to research the nature of expression and communication in depth. He also has been certified by the I.I.F.A.B (www.iifab.org) to guide and lead Bioenergetic Exercise groups and classes. He practiced Chi Gong and pushing hands.
He has studied Kundalini Yoga and the martial art of Aikido for many years. A very important part of his education comes from the “Gurdjeff’s teaching” which he followed in Rome, Los Angeles and London. He is also counselor in Reality therapy and a facilitator in W. Glasser international to guide “take charge your life”.
